GET TO KNOW ME

Hey, my name is Jes and I am Altered Hair Design. 

Although I do love to travel and see the world, I've lived in the greater Madison area my entire life and it will always be my home. I like to be outdoors, read books, do home renovations, work in my veggie garden, and hangout with my partner and our dogs.

I have been a hairstylist for 14 years, but it wasn't until the wild year of 2020 that I even considered opening a salon of my own, as soon as that process started I knew this was where I was meant to be.

I love that I am able to offer gender neutral services and be a safe space for everyone. Although I am in love with all things hair related, my most favorite services are wavy/curly custom hair cutting. I have taken hours upon hours of education on curly and wavy hair and although there is always more to learn, I would have to say it is one of my specialties.  Custom color techniques are my other passion, from huge transformations with fashion colors, copper or red hair color, to even just covering your natural sparkles as they grow in -- I'm your girl.
